As globalization continues to deepen, international exchange and cooperation have become an essential part of higher education. Following the successful organization of student international exchange and internship activities in 2023, in 2024, the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange at Qujing Normal University meticulously planned and organized for students from the School of Humanities and the School of Physical Education to undertake internships abroad. Throughout these activities, students enhanced their professional skills, deepened their understanding of international education, and expanded their international horizons.

Students Earn Thai Professional Qualification Certificates After Internship

During their internships in Thailand, students majoring in International Chinese Language Education immersed themselves in local primary and secondary schools as well as language training institutions, facing the challenges of a foreign teaching environment. With a high sense of responsibility and professional spirit, they overcame language barriers and cultural differences, successfully integrating Chinese language teaching with the actual situation of Thai students. They designed a series of creative and effective teaching plans. Through engaging teaching methods such as role-playing and situational dialogues, they stimulated the interest of Thai students in learning Chinese, improved their Chinese proficiency, and deepened their understanding and recognition of Chinese culture.

Meanwhile, students from the School of Physical Education experienced Thai educational models and the unique charm of Thai culture during their exchange studies at Burapha University in Thailand. They studied courses such as Thai language and Muay Thai, which not only enhanced their language skills but also deepened their understanding and recognition of Thai culture. They also participated in outdoor practical courses such as diving, kayaking, and paddleboarding, which not only allowed students to master new sports skills but also trained their practical abilities and innovative thinking. Through interactions with local students, our students demonstrated good communication skills and cultural sensitivity in cross-cultural exchanges.

Beyond teaching practice, students also actively participated in local cultural activities in Thailand, experiencing traditional festivals and customs, and establishing deep friendships with local teachers and students. These activities not only enriched the students' internship life but also provided them with rare opportunities for cross-cultural exchange, allowing them to more profoundly understand cultural diversity and the true meaning of international education.

The performance of our students during the internship was highly praised by the Thai partner institutions. The students' professional teaching attitude, innovative teaching methods, and good cross-cultural communication skills have won widespread praise from Thai teachers and students. This positive feedback not only affirmed the students' efforts but also added confidence to the development of Qujing Normal University's physical education and international Chinese language education majors.

In 2024, Qujing Normal University's overseas internship exchange work has achieved results. These achievements are attributed to the university's high regard for educational internationalization and the support and cooperation of the secondary colleges in student international work.
